Lemon Poppyseed Cake
A delicious, citrus filled cake ready to serve as a great dessert.

Mix all of your ingredients together in a bowl using a whisk, making sure everything is evenly combined. Zest your lemon and mix it into the mixture with a spoon.

Once everything is evenly mixed and no lumps are present, pour your batter into a cake tin or tin of your choice.

Preheat your oven to 170°c. While your oven is preheating let your cake batter sit in the tin for 10mins.

Once preheated, transfer your cake batter into the oven, preferably on the middle rack.

Let your cake bake for 50mins.

10mins before baking process is done, start on your lemon syrup using your zested lemon juice and powdered sugar.

Juice your zested lemon in a bowl and stir in powdered sugar. Mix until the powdered sugar is lumpy. These lumps will dissolve once poured onto the hot cake.

Once your cake is out of the oven, immediately poke holes into the top and sides of the cake and pour over your syrup. Let it rest for 20mins
